Cake and Spoon, a local Austin bakery, is the creation of native Texan, Melissa Brinckmann.  Her pastries reflect her appreciation for local ingredients, which run deep.  Melissa was raised on a Texas ranch, eating fresh foods from neighboring ranches and farms on her family dinner table. That’s when she began baking too, as a child, as a simple pleasure.  She now shares that pleasure daily with her quality pastries and cakes, and still supports local growers for many of her ingredients. Ingredients that cannot be found locally are imported from the world’s best sources, such as King Arthur flour, Plugra butter, Madagascar vanilla, and chocolates from France, Venezuela and Belgium.  The end result?  A delicious treat that is Texas born, and world “traveled” all at the same time!
